Marine

The unique design and installation method of Platipus Anchors makes it an optimal choice for marine construction. Our anchors are available in galvanized cast iron, heat treated aluminium that can be hard anodized and aluminium bronze. These high grade materials give you the ability to plan projects that have a design life between 20 and 100 years in fresh, brackish or salt water conditions.

Many of our associated components are made of the highest grade stainless steel. Because there is no specialized installation tools required, most marine contractors already have the equipment needed for installation. Our unique “percussive” installation method allows Platipus Anchors to be driven in difficult, varying conditions. Drilling can sometimes be difficult due to rubble or obstructions and digging can be impossible because of existing structures.

The Percussion Driven Earth Anchor (PDEA®) is efficient in handling unforgiving site conditions. The PDEA® can be quickly installed and will often replace large concrete blocks (deadman), king piles, screw/helical anchors and soil nails. The anchor is immediately deployable and can be field certified to insure its holding capacity meets the engineer’s requirements.
